The Club Is 100

Well, we made it !

The Club was 100 Years old on 26th June 2020.

The Club was actually started in the field in Old Post Office Lane.  It was started in a small hut,  Somewhere in the School / Phoenix Hall grounds.  The District part of our name is relevant , as people did travel from all over the valley to frequent  our / your Club.

In the Club we do have the original minute Book.  A fantastic part of our / your Club history.

There is also a memoirs Book, we would love to read your stories.

We have come through a lot in those 100 years.  Big Fairgrounds out the back fields.  Flower & Vegetable Shows.  Lots of Darts ,Crib, Snooker & Billiards.  Border League days.

On a couple of occasions, nearly closing our doors for good!!

But, we have come through it all.  We had a party planned for Sat 27th June.  Obviously postponed till a later, safer date.

Over the Lockdown  period it has been a very difficult time for everyone.

 We would all like some form of normality back in our lives.

We have been busy in our/ your Club during the latter dates of Lockdown.
